International take-up

Following the publication of BS 7799-2:2002 in September 2002, even more interest is being shown in the standard.  Take a look at the increasing numbers of certifications world-wide, what is happening in ISO SC27 WG1 and WG3, and the uptake of 7799 Goes Global conferences around the world.  Click here to see which ones we are going to.

The ISO/IEC 27000 series of standards

ISO and IEC are in the process of approving the development of a new series of standards covering information security management systems, to be known as the ISO/IEC 27000 series.  ISO/IEC 27001 deals with ISMS requirements, 27002 has replaced ISO/IEC 17799 and 27006 deals with the accredited certification requirements..

The proposed 27003 will provide guidance on applying 27001.  27004 will deal with information security management measurement and metrics and 27005 risk assessment and risk management.  All of these are still at the committee draft stage.
